Plate XXIThe fern behind the brick wall has put out a new frond. It is still curled at the end. I passed it twice before noticing.
A snail crossed the pavement while I was looking at something else. Its shell had a little nick. I stayed until it reached the grass.
The long route is only four minutes longer. It goes past the wall, the elder tree, and the gate that no longer opens.
One feather, drawn badly.
Three leaves, all different.
A name to look up later.
I am trying to learn the names of the things I already walk past. There is no deadline.
