Discussing Movement

Describe the activity, not only the discomfort

When preparing for an assessment, note which movements feel difficult, when the problem occurs and how it affects ordinary activities. This gives the clinician useful context.

Ask for clear instructions

If movement work is recommended, ask for a demonstration and a clear explanation of the purpose, starting point and review process. Individual recommendations belong in a clinical consultation.
