The unoccupied interval
The symbol is finished. You can stop tending it. Put it in a drawer or leave it beside the cue you chose. Wash a cup. Look out of the window. Return to the scale at which your hands can change something.
There is a temptation to watch every passing detail for confirmation. That can turn an exercise into a vigilance you did not intend. Leave room for ordinary coincidence and for a result that is simply absent.
When the cue arrives, make the small move. If it does not arrive, do not invent an omen to replace it. Choose a better cue tomorrow.
A mark can change the way you attend to a situation. That changed attention may change what you do. This is already enough to test. You need not claim more than the notebook can show.
